A study of the Shard Flock Harpies

The name Shard Flock, refers to five giant harpies. Infamous for the threat they pose to humans and other small species. Each of them is a dangerous and voracious predator who actively prey on humans and countless expeditions of adventurers have met an abrupt end inside their bellies.
The flock hunts in a zone west of Frost peak, where they are particularly active, and their presence alone is enough to make the entire region more perilous as a result. They can sometimes be seen flying together in the sky, playing cruel games among themselves involving one of them flying with prey high in the air, then dropping it for the others to compete and catch it first before the prey is mercilessly gulped down in mid-flight. A sobering sight and a stark reminder of the airborne threat looming over those lands.
The flock works as a tight and remarkably cohesive unit. It doesn't seem to have a leader and, although the harpy Ymaris is often seen calling the shots, she doesn't seem to have any particular authority over the other members. Sometimes the shot caller will switch to another member - often Juna - and the others will follow smoothly. Despite their very different, and sometimes polar opposite personalities, the five harpies formed deep and enduring bonds of trust with each other.
